Decaf Earl Grey tea is a blend of tangy Ceylon black tea, flavoured with bergamot - a citrus fruit. The perfect afternoon tea: zesty and exhilarating fresh citrus aroma, slightly dry to the nose, with a rounded and balanced orange rind flavour to match the tang of the Ceylon black tea. Our decaffeinated version of Earl Grey makes a zesty cup of tea, both hot and iced. A gentle, natural CO2 decaffeination process retains the delicate shape and flavour of the tea leaves.
This is a decaf tea | Steep at 100°C for 3 minutes.

“ I'm not an earl grey fan because the bergamot is usually strong flavored. This wasn't bitter and it wasn't heavy on the bergamot. I brewed at 195F for 3 minutes and added some cream. ”

“ Adagio's Decaf Earl Grey is an absolute gem! I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth it is, even more so than the caffeinated version. The classic bergamot flavor shines through beautifully without any of the jitters. It's perfect for winding down in the evening or anytime you want that rich Earl Grey taste without the caffeine. This tea has quickly become my go-to for a relaxing and flavorful cup. Highly recommend it! This one is quickly becoming a staple in my tea stash. ”(3 mins @ 85°C)

“ I seldom drink this one straight but it's the most versatile of the Grey family IMO. It can be made to taste similar to the others with various additions plus more unusual teas and accents can be added to it for some wonderful variants. Glad it's available. :) ”(3 mins @ 100°C)

It is said that in 1830, an Englishman named Charles Earl Grey traveled on a diplomatic mission to China, where in return for his act of kindness, a local man presented him with the recipe for making this distinctive tea. A few corrections are in order. Firstly, the Chinese have never been black tea drinkers, and were unlikely to have a recipe for Earl Grey to bestow on visitors. Secondly, Charles Earl Grey never set foot in China. Otherwise, the story is completely true.
